399 Simple basal insulin regimen in women with mild gestational diabetes

Approximately 30% to 40% of women with gestational diabetes (GDM) receive insulin therapy, and the multiple daily injection (MDI) regimen a combination basal prandial is generally used, as in cases prepregnancy diabetes. We developed simple (SII) regimen, which one or two injected doses are for mild GDM who require therapy. The present study explored whether not SII effective MDI preventing fetal macrosomia GDM. In this retrospective study, we included singleton pregnant tertiary perinatal care center. Insulin therapy was indicated if glucose control did reach target values under diet At beginning used NPH (10 20 units) before breakfast added another at bedtime, necessary. If still values, switched an additional aspart injection. compared levels, weight gain (GWG), outcomes between diet-alone, SII, groups. Among 397 GDM, 66%, 15%, 19% were groups, respectively. There no significant differences control, maternal GWG, among groups (Table). 34% requiring 44% had well-controlled condition without any increase GWG adverse outcomes. nearly half can maintain good simpler regimen.
